Work and Function plans

What work are we planning, and who keeps each plan?

Each team, department or service, a Function, keeps a plan of its work, its Initiatives. One timeline shows them all.

WorkTimeline of planned work

In three steps

  1. Each team keeps its own plan

Each band is a Function: a team, department or service, with one Owner. Load work from Excel or add it by hand.

  2. Work sits on its planned dates

Change work serves the strategy; grey Run work must happen anyway. Work with no strategic link is marked.

  3. Clashes are marked

A red line means work starts before what it needs has finished. Open any bar for its record.

Work and Function plans

What am I looking at?

How each team keeps its own plan of work, and how one timeline shows them all. The picture builds in three steps; the steps below say the same in words. The examples come from one invented 80-person engineering firm, the same on every page.
